Clean & Care Guide

Leather Strap Care

All PMBelts real leather straps are made to be handled from day one.

No special care is needed for standard black leather.

Brightly coloured straps may show minor cracking over time, especially with frequent movement or bending.
This is completely normal and comes from the nature of the leather paint used.

Avoid exposing your belt to extreme temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight,
as this can dry out the leather and increase the risk of cracking.

Leather naturally softens with time and wear, so some creasing or surface marks are to be expected and only add to the character of your belt.

If your belt gets wet from sweat or moisture, wipe it down as soon as possible with a dry cloth to help preserve both the leather and the plating.

To clean the leather, use warm water and a microfibre cloth or towel.
DO NOT use cleaning sprays, chemicals or soaps, as these can damage the finish.

For brightly coloured or white straps, avoid using any sprays or cleaning products on the leather, including glass cleaners, as these can cause smearing or discolouration. In most cases, water and a soft cloth will do the job.

Plate Care (Replica and Custom)

Like the leather, the plates on your belt require only minimal care.

A soft microfibre cloth and warm water is usually enough to keep them looking sharp.

If water isn’t enough, an ammonia-free glass cleaner can be used VERY sparingly.

Avoid all polishes and chemical cleaners, especially on 24k gold or dual-plated belts, as these can permanently damage the finish.

Whatever you use, always ensure your plates are completely dry after cleaning.

Hardware Care

If your belt has fastening snaps, check them occasionally for signs of wear and keep them dry to avoid rust or corrosion.

Storage and Display

You’re free to display and store your belt however suits you, but we recommend a few basics to help it last:

Keep it out of direct sunlight where possible.

Avoid damp or humid environments.

Don’t store the belt in its carry bag long term. Use the bag for transport or short-term storage only.

Letting the leather breathe helps prevent both mould and drying out.

For bright or white straps, take extra care to avoid stains, as they can be difficult to remove.

Warranty and Care Disclaimer

Please note that damage caused by improper care, misuse or neglect is not covered under warranty and will not be repaired free of charge.

Following this guide will help keep your belt in top condition for years to come.
